Trailblazer's e-Navigator Report

Notes from Joshua Boss, District Executive

Fall Camporee

The Trailblazer District Fall Camporee took place at the New Ulm Diocesan Youth Center in New Ulm, Minnesota September 23-25.  Everyone had a blast!  There were eight Troops totalling 71 Boy Scouts and 12 Cub Scouts who attended.  We worked on the First Aid and Emergency Preparedness merit badges.  Our morning consisted of rotations where we learned about carrys, first aid procedures and how to deal with mass casualties.  In the afternoon, we were visited by the Renville Area Ambulance Crew and the North Memorial Medical Center Med-evac Helicopter!  They surprised the Scouts and landed right in the field where we were playing!  Our weekend ended with a mass casualty drill where a Scout went missing and turned up with a broken ankle.  The boys worked well together and a lot of fun was had by all!  A big thank you goes out to John Thompson who worked very hard with a lot of volunteers to coordinate our event!  Thanks John!

Fall Recruitment

Fall recruitment is well under way in Trailblazer District!  So far, we have recruited 53 new Cub Scouts and are above membership for the month!  Way to go!  All Packs, Troops and Crews should be working on recruiting new members!  Just ask a friend to come to a Unit event!  They will have fun and we will bring more friends into our program!  If you have any questions, please get ahold of Joshua Boss at 763-231-7221 or at jboss@northernstarbsa.org

October 6th Roundtable

Everyone should attend our October 6th roundtable at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar at 7:30 PM!  We will have Mary Wagner, who is a volunteer with Northern Star Council who will come to speak to us about Scouts who have ADD and ADHD and how we can work with them!  Her visit was very popular last year and she will have a great program again this year.  Let's get everyone that we can there!

If anyone needs ANYTHING, please don't hesitate to contact me!

Yours in Scouting,

Joshua Boss
